City of Kuna Idaho now requiring a permit for Commercial Special Events, events protected by the First Amendment not included


Mark Reinhardt- Boise Idaho The City of Kuna Idaho has an Ordinance on their servers that would require a permit through the City Clerks Office for Special Events. The Ordinance, labeled as, Ordinance 2013-3, defined special events as, "Special Event: A preplanned single gathering, event or series of related consecutive daily gatherings or events, expected to draw members of the general public at any of these gatherings or events as participants or spectators which is to be held on public or private property, that is of an entertainment, cultural, recreational, educational, or sporting nature, or of any other nature." Addressing issues related to the First Amendment, the Ordinance stated,
The main requirements issued by the Ordinance were in relation to Commercial Events, which states,
The Ordinance was not shown to have been signed by Kuna Mayor Greg Nelson, when found searching for it online,
However, according to the City of Kuna's Municicode Database, the Ordinance itself was passed February 2nd, 2013
