Fact Check: Should an Ohio middle school be forced to remove a portrait of Jesus?

Mark Reinhardt- Boise Idaho Fox News Analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano had issued the following question via Facebook,
Well, lets take a look at the U.S. Constitution on the subject of religion. According to an entry by Brittanica.com, this is what was said about the establishment clause under the 1st Amendment, "clause in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution forbidding Congress from establishing a state religion. It prevents the passage of any law that gives preference to or forces belief in any one religion. It is paired with a clause that prohibits limiting the free expression of religion." The First Amendment itself states, "Amendment I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Being that an Ohio Middle School, is funded by tax dollars, the portrait of Jesus would be a violation of the 1st Amendment's establishment clause, thereby violating the U.S. Constitution through its existence. Making the question issued by Judge Andrew Napolitano, moot.

TSA to allow Marijuana on board airline flights

Mark Reinhardt- Boise Idaho In a recent piece by lawyers.com, The Transportation Safety Administration has announced that passengers would be allowed to bring Cannabis on the plane with them...
Keith Stroup, founder of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws said this of the announcement, “I’m delighted to hear that because I think it shows that TSA primarily is acting as it was intended when it was established, to protect all of us when we travel on the airlines and to thwart terrorists. It is not supposed to be an anti-drug agency,” says Stroup. “What nobody feels 100 percent comfortable with is it’s a grey zone you’re going through. It’s technically still illegal even though they aren’t enforcing it very strongly.” According to a statement issued the the Transportation Safety Administration on the issue, it says, "TSA security officers do not search for marijuana or other drugs. In the event a substance that appears to be marijuana is observed during security screening, TSA will refer the matter to a law enforcement officer. Whether or not marijuana is considered “medical marijuana” under local law is not relevant to TSA screening because TSA is governed by federal law and federal law provides no basis to treat medical marijuana any differently than non-medical marijuana. Even if an item is generally permitted, it may be subject to additional screening or not allowed through the checkpoint if it triggers an alarm during the screening process, appears to have been tampered with, or poses other security concerns. The final decision rests with TSA on whether to allow any items on the plane." As part of the disclaimer for the Russ Belville show states before each broadcast, "We advise all listeners to read their State and Federal Marijuana Laws." The Policy change itself, focuses on flights between Colorado and Wasthington State.

Idaho Department of Administration fails to address the issue of multi-state contracts

Mark Reinhardt- Boise Idaho The Department of Administration has just release their 2014-2017 outlining improvement in contract management, “In FY2013, the programs of the Division of Purchasing made significant strides to enhance available resources and service capabilities to better serve their customers.” Covering the issue of contract oversight, it stated, “State Purchasing continued to support improvements in communications and training through individual group/agency workshops, quarterly workshops, quarterly newsletters, and internal and external training for statewide personnel and vendors.” This was done after a report issued by the Idaho State Office of Performance Evaluations on the subject of Contract Oversight What the strategic plan had failed to address, was the issue of Multi-state Contract Agreements through the Western States Contracting Alliance, of which the State of Idaho is a member. The State of Oregon had made a purchase of Rental Vehicles on behalf of the membership alliance, including accepting the terms that the State of Oregon had made with the contractor supplying Rental Vehicles for the membership alliance.

Oregon Master Pricing Agreement

Meanwhile, the Idaho Department of Administration is currently facing issues with an aging workforce. Along with difficulties in retaining Information Technology Specialists due to better wages in the Private Sector.

Update: Police Department in Boise Idaho to get vehicle capable of withstanding Weapons of Mass Destruction

Update 10-7-13 2:56 PM Residents of Boise have recently taken to Twitter to express their views on the Boise Police Department obtaining an MRAP vehicle for the Departments S.W.A.T. team. Another resident had expressed support for Boise Police obtaining the vehicle, In response to this Tweet, the Boise Police Department said this on the subject of the value of the MRAP vehicle,

Mark Reinhardt- Boise Idaho The Boise Police Department has announced through their Facebook page, the acquisition of a vehicle capable of withstanding Nuclear Weapons, among other form of Weapons of Mass Destruction,
Idaho Resident Drew Dunn stated in comments, "How much does it cost to maintain? I don't imagine that you'll be trotting down to NAPA for many parts. I was hoping that the BPD would be spared from the nationwide trend of militarizing the police. I guess not." Dunn was refering to a piece written by Bradley Balko, called, "Police Militarization and the Rise of The Warrior Cop" discussed on Fox Business through Journalist John Stossel. Balko also engaged in debate with Ohio Sherrif Russ Martin on the topic, Another person in the comments section had stated, "(James Hull) Meanwhile our schools are rotting. Great use of tax money. They can use it to herd us into the "free speech" or "protest" zones. Great intimidation tool." Law Enforcement personnel through the Police One publication had several written pieces in response to Balko's Piece, one of those, called, "Police Militarization and the Rise of the Warrior Journalist had this to say, "He often fails to fully explore either the background of a botched raid or the results after the victims sue. He maintains instead that courts often promote law enforcement’s overreach with poor legal analysis — that is, analysis that doesn’t agree with his own. He also believes that drug legalization will go a long way toward alleviating drug-related violence." Lance Eldridge, the author of the response piece expanded further, by saying, "Newer officers should read his book if they want a glimpse into why officers are often seen as the problem and not the solution. Dismissing his work — along with the growing amount of reporting on police misconduct — is a mistake. Just because something is legal today doesn’t make it right in all circumstances. Depending daily on practices designed for use in extremis can only lead to bad law and political over-reaction, risking the loss of important law enforcement tactics, techniques, and procedures." Sources in the Boise Idaho Cab industry had long since remarked that the nature of Policing had become class oriented in nature, when talking about Boise Idaho. The source wished not to be named for fear of retribution by Law Enforcement Officers. Not all Police Officers agree with increased Militarized Practices by Local Law Enforcement Agencies, as Oathkeepers pointed out in a poster issued on their websites front page, Stating further, Oathkeepers said, "We call on them to stop hiding their actions beneath a veil of secrecy, and to expose any violations of the Constitution. President Obama has stated in many speeches his Administration has been the most “transparent” Administration in US history. It is time the actions of his staff matched his rhetoric." Meanwhile, issues related to Law Enforcement and Public Trust have increasingly come into the forefront as a result of the Internet age. With more people calling for the use of Body Cameras for actions, such as, Warrant Service and Welfare Checks.
